One of Scotland's Golf Coast members, a pub in Aberlady, has been named as the best in East Lothian. The county winners of the National Pub and Bar Awards, announced last week, found that Duck’s Inn was the top pub in East Lothian.
The premises run by Malcolm Duck, was one of 94 winners announced from across the UK. The pubs, which have been selected on overall best practice across a number of operational categories, will be officially crowned at a red carpet celebration next month. At the grand final, 15 regional winners will also be announced, as well as the accolade for the overall National Pub & Bar of the Year.
Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar Magazine, which runs the awards, said ‘This positive, industry-boosting news comes at a time when closures of pubs ad bars are too often focused on in the press. The sole purpose of the National Pub & Bar Awards is to tell as may people as possible about the incredible businesses that these county winners are running. With 94 triumphant pubs on the winners list, chances are that every person in the UK will have an award winning pub near them. Get out there and see these places for yourselves.’
The overall winners will be announces in London on May 23.
