Results of the 1st day’s play (Tuesday 3rd October 2017)
“In very trying conditions with winds gusting over 35 miles per hour the players have shown what fabulous skills they possess. With players from 13 countries around the world from as far as the USA and Scandinavia.
However, it is a Scot who is leading in the Scratch event at the half way stage. Fraser Mann from Carnoustie with a score of 71, a great score with any clubs but even more surprising when achieved with clubs that date back 100 years.
However, he will not be able to rest on his laurels as the field is tightly bunched behind him. Hopefully the wind will not blow as strongly tomorrow and we can look forward to another exciting day’s play and a tense finally.”
