Yesterday was the final day of voting for the proposed new course layout at Haddington Golf Club to change the route of their golf course to feature 2 distinct loops of 9 holes. 178 members voted in the Ballot, the result was an overwhelming majority voting, 79% voting YES to change to the new layout and 21% voting NO to remain on the same route.

With players from 13 countries from around the world, from as far as the USA, Japan and Scandinavia, competition was fierce. However, it was a Swede who walked off as the World Hickory Open Champion. Johan Moberg from Sweden, is the 2018 World Hickory Open Champion. His scores of 73 and 71, for a total of 144, are impressive scores in any period, but even more surprising when achieved with clubs that date back 100 years.
The ‘Race to Dunbar’ finals of the Stephen Gallacher Foundation were held on a very windy Sunday making very testing conditions for the young players who took part in the competition.
